In addition to ready-made quilts, I also offer a very limited number of custom quilts. I look forward to creating a quilt that perfectly fits you or that special person. To begin collaborating, please click on GET A QUOTE below and answer a few questions so we can start a conversation.
I make quilts of all sizes. I can provide you with suggestions for fabrics from which you can choose and a design that suits your taste and your home.
If your custom quilt is a gift for a special occasion, be sure to plan ahead. My quilts take 6 to 12 months to complete, depending on my availability. I am currently booking into 2023.

Blake
This full-sized Queen quilt (88"x88") was commissioned by the mother of a middle-school teacher for his 38th Birthday. He is a large man (large quilt!), prefers subdued prints, and likes art and design.
I settled on large scale blocks to match his stature, in a bold classic patchwork star pattern, in blue and gold with white and ecru accents. The prints are subtle but interesting, interspersed with solid white linen, and the back is a cozy cotton/linen chambray. No outside borders fuses traditional and modern styles.
In winter this quilt provides an extra layer on top of Blake’s duvet; summer it serves as a light and cool bedcover. Its ample size keeps him cozy on the couch anytime.

Tora
This baby quilt was commissioned for Tora, a spring baby.
I chose a blend of softer palette Kaffe Fassett prints for this sweet quilt, incorporating traditional flying geese into a modern design. Just the right size to tuck with Tora into her stroller.

Sarah
This bed quilt was commissioned by a gentleman as a surprise for his longtime dear friend. He described Sarah as a woman interested in the power of the cosmos.
The request was to make a quilt to lay just on top her king sized bed, so all of it would be visible below her stacked pillows at the head. The top fabrics are cotton with shiny gold embellishments and the back is a soft enzyme washed linen.
Sarah’s quilt can also be used on the couch or hung vertically as a wall hanging.

Naomi
This king sized was commissioned by a gentleman as a surprise for his wife’s special birthday.
Although their bed is a queen, his request was to make the quilt so it would reach the floor on both sides of their sleigh bed frame. He asked for calm colours and given his wife’s interest in bears, we decided on an updated version of a Bear’s Paw quilt.
Modern elements include lots of negative space, floating cornerstones, and minimalist quilting. Sam Alberts of Quilting Curve Studio in Grand Forks quilted it for me on her long arm quilting machine.
The fabrics are high quality quilting cottons and supple enzyme washed linens. The batting is a cotton/wool blend so it is light but cozy. The minimalist quilting creates a nice fluid drape, cozy for a bedquilt.

Izzy’s Garden
This colourful quilt was commissioned by the Godparents of a special little 7-year old girl to commemorate her Holy Baptism.
They sent me photos of Izzy’s bedroom and together we worked to choose vibrant pinks to complement her surroundings. This quilt will look especially striking next to Izzy’s large graphic sheet set of black horses on a white background.
I so enjoyed part of the surprise by making it for her!

This cheerful baby quilt was made specially for Baby Esmae, with a matching doll quilt for Big Sister Ellie. Simple is often best!
