… Machine quilted, binding hand-hemmed …

Front and Back: cotton and linen

Batting: 80% cotton/20% wool

Binding: Japanese linen

Thread: 100% cotton

Size: 60” x 60” (Throw/Lap/Wall)

Special Features: I named this special piece “Kiruto” which means “quilt” in Japanese.

The quilt top is a variation of a traditional patchwork log cabin pattern, incorporating various Japanese-made indigo and ecru coloured fabrics. The red centre of each block represents the hearth in the ‘cabin’.

The back fabric is also Japanese, a soft brushed cotton, making it extra comfortable next to the skin.

The batting is a lofty and warm cotton/wool blend.

Kiruto is 5’ x 5’, a versatile size, making it useful as an additional bed covering, to hang on the wall, or as a throw for one or two.
